likely to exceed $25,000.

Je would also notice two great changes which distinguish the accounts this year from those of former years, namely, the new form in which the Assets and Liabilities of the Colony are shown, and the closing of the Railway Capitel Account and the placing of the Department on the same footing as other departments. Up to the present the uncertainty as to our true position has been somewhat embarrassing, but I feel now that the position is cleared to such an extent that any sudden changes in the fortunes of the Colony can be met with greater equanimity than would

have been the case in previous years.

In the debate on the second reading several subjects were raised by the Un-official Members, which will have my careful consideration, and if necessary I will

address you separately on some of them.
